Anhydrous sodium sulfate is an electrolyte replenisher that is used in isosmotic solutions, so that administration does not interfere with the natural balance of electrolytes, and does not contribute to water and ions being absorbed or excreted. Method for the preparation of anhydrous sodium from a sodium sulfate-containing therardite ore comprises; crushing the therardite ore; lixiviation of the crushed ore with water in the first lixiviation stage or with an exhausted solution in the next step at a temperature of approximately 28 °C.
